MOBE Guides are here to listen to you—you’re an expert on your life.
Most of us have a pretty good idea of what it takes to live a healthful life. We should eat healthy foods, get 7–8 hours of sleep a night, move every day, watch our stress levels, and take our prescribed medications and supplements. But often, that’s all easier said than done. Research suggests on average only 50% of medications are taken as prescribed, only one in five adults gets the recommended minutes of physical activity1, and an incredible one in three don’t get enough sleep.2 What if you’re not sure what counts as “healthy” food, you struggle to sleep through the night, or can’t seem to find the time to exercise? What if you’re managing multiple health concerns? Add in work, families, and the general day-to-day of life and suddenly managing our own health can seem overwhelming.
There is an enormous amount of health information available, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach for feeling your best. MOBE can make a difference in your life with one-to-one, guided support. You know your life best, but a MOBE Guide can help you put all the pieces together for better health.
What is guided support?
Finding better health and more happiness starts with figuring out what optimal health and well-being looks like for you, based on your experiences. At its core, guided support is a collaborative, whole-person approach to helping you reach your health goals. At MOBE, it starts with pairing you with a trained health professional called a MOBE Guide. You’ll work together to identify what your specific health goals are, along with your strengths and values. You’ll also talk about what you feel is keeping you from making the health changes we all know are in our best interests. Then, you and your Guide will create an action plan on how to get your from where you currently are to where you want to be.
The benefits of guided support.
The most compelling benefit for guided support is having a partner on your health journey. You don’t have to sort through the constant flow of health information alone. Your Guide will be there for assistance and accountability, cheering you on and teaching you how to make long-lasting changes. They’re not going to tell you what to do, but they will empower you with resources that are relevant to your specific circumstances. They’ll help you build confidence and a routine that prioritizes your goals.
Another benefit of guided support is that it’s truly all about you. It’s a chance to prioritize you and align your health goals with your personal values. Again, your Guide isn’t here to instruct you on the right way to do any one thing. They’re here to listen to you—you’re an expert on your life, on what’s worked for you in the past and what hasn’t. Your Guide will help navigate your unique barriers and obstacles to build an action plan. They’re able to look at the big picture and help you connect all the aspects of your health and well-being.
Trying to take charge of your own health can be overwhelming. However, you don’t have to do it alone. Research on the benefits of guided support is growing, proving that positive change is even more possible with a little encouragement and assistance1.
A MOBE Guide can help you maintain the mindset and motivation to reach toward your health goals. Get started today.
