Minnesota-based companies partner to improve health and well-being of members within their mutual community.
HealthPartners, an integrated, nonprofit health care organization, is now offering its fully-insured members access to MOBE, a one-to-one personalized health engagement service. MOBE pairs advanced analytics with a high-touch health coaching model to identify and help members who consistently seek more care but find their health not improving.
“As an integrated health care organization, we offer services like MOBE to help members and patients live healthier lives, and support simpler, more affordable care and coverage,” said Jason Gallagher, VP of Health and Care Engagement at HealthPartners.
HealthPartners and MOBE will test the innovation and validate outcomes with the goal of expanding the offering to all HealthPartners health plan members.
“MOBE complements the support that patients receive in a traditional health care setting. We bridge the gap between medical care and daily life by providing comprehensive medication management and guidance around behavior change–without adding any cost to the health care system. We are grateful to serve HealthPartners and its fully-insured members with our tailored health engagement services, and we look forward to collaborating to improve their health and well-being,” said MOBE Chief Commercial Officer Kurt Cegielski.
Selected HealthPartners fully-insured members will receive support from dedicated MOBE Guides and Pharmacists to help address their individual health needs. MOBE Guides leverage their health expertise to address physical and emotional health, including sleep, exercise, nutrition, and social stressors as part of an individual’s overall well-being. And, MOBE Pharmacists conduct comprehensive medication reviews, with the goal of improving health outcomes by optimizing medications in conjunction with lifestyle change. For HealthPartners members, this means evaluation of and guidance on prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and supplements.
Since its inception, MOBE has collected millions of data points to determine the indicators of health outcomes and costs, and uses predictive analytics to intervene and address health claims spending earlier, leading to a measurably healthier population. To date, the company has reached more than 100,000 people across the country and reduced $210 million of unnecessary spend from the health care system.
MOBE was founded in 2014 by health industry veterans who uncovered a way to use deep data science to identify people whose health care needs (and costs) are going up, but whose health concerns are not resolved. MOBE combines this deep data science with digital health and a novel, one-to-one personalized approach—engaging and supporting participants to achieve healthier and happier lives without any additional cost to the health system, employers, or insurers.
